Digital X-Ray for Better Care
Would you build a house without blueprints? Of course not. The same principle applies to your spine – to provide the most effective chiropractic care, we need to see exactly what we’re working with. At DCPG, we use state-of-the-art digital X-ray technology to give us the precise insights we need to create the most effective care plan for your unique spine.
Why We Use Digital X-Rays at DC Practice
While we can learn a lot from physical examinations and other diagnostic analyses, advanced digital X-rays let us see a more complete picture. Images of your spine show us the position, rotation, and condition of your vertebrae and help us understand the current health of your spinal discs.
X-rays also confirm if you are a good candidate for chiropractic care. We want to know if there are any contraindications and to spot potential underlying conditions. We can confirm any postural imbalances and measure the degree of the curves with accuracy.
It’s like having a window into your spine, showing us where there is pressure that is causing or contributing to nerve irritation and inflammation. This is key because it reduces the nerve flow between the brain and body, interfering with normal communication between the systems.
This helps us to adjust you specifically to remove that interference, allowing your body to communicate and heal optimally.
This detailed view helps us catch potential issues before they become serious problems and allows us to measure and track your progress with precision.

Ellie is absolutely amazing! I had neck and upper back pain for over 8 months having visited a number of physio and consultants, no success. Ellie identified the problem in the first session and had it fixed in the next two. Great energy, great passion. Definitely recommend. Thank you.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is osteopathy?
Osteopathy is a primary healthcare profession, governed by statutory law, to provide the highest quality care for patients in the treatment of their muscular and joint pains. It is a hands-on therapy which uses a system of diagnosis and treatment with the emphasis being on helping the body heal itself.
What happens at the first consultation?
The first appointment consists of a case history which involves asking you questions about your medical history, lifestyle, and the symptoms you are currently experiencing.
What does osteopathic treatment involve?
Osteopaths work with their hands, and treatment often consists of a combination of techniques such as:
Rhythmic articulation and joint manipulation (clicking) to restore joint mobility
Massage and pumping to improve fluid dynamics to restore tissue health
Myo-fascial stretching to restore normal tissue length and structure
What is chiropractic?
Ideally, we like to be able to see the area we are treating and the surrounding tissues so that we can deliver an effective and safe treatment. In most cases, if we are treating the upper back in women a strappy vest top or sports bra will allow us to treat effectively. If treating the lower half of the body, exercise shorts can be worn. If you do not want to undress, then talk to the osteopath and we can work around the issue. Your modesty will always be respected.
Does treatment hurt?
Occasionally, you may find some techniques uncomfortable, but we will always ask for feedback during treatment and will work within your comfort zone. After your treatment you may experience soreness or tenderness in the area that was treated, however this usually subsides within 24-48 hours. If you are concerned after your treatment, please call the clinic and we can offer more advice.
